Most of us here are working all days of the week and take the weekends for granted. Some people use weekends for cleaning up their homes, and some for catching up on any pending work. But have you ever thought about what would be a better way to spend the weekends? Well, we at Team Jey thought about it and came up with our ideas. Here we go:
Retrospect your week
This might look like work but it is not. This is a fun way to look back and understand what happened with your week and may create a more appealing way to look forward to your next week. All you need is an hour of your time. Most of us in our teams follow the process loosely:
- Write down any successes and failures of the week
- Pat yourself for the successes
- Think about how to improve upon the failures in a constructive way
- Be grateful for the good things that happened throughout the week
Relax, play a sport, watch some movies
Most of us do this anyway. But we ask you to get into a sport on Saturdays and chill on Sundays. That exercise and getting out of the house without any worries will do wonders for your body. Also, sports will be a social experience for your soul. When it comes to movies, don't randomly pick them. Be specific on what you want and choose the one that your mind wants. We suggest this because we want to specifically exercise our will and just doom scroll.
Read a book, write that long pending novel
We know everybody has that one book to read, or that one novel idea that needs to be written. You can probably spend two hours to do either of them. Get a coffee in a mug, a laptop, and a corner place to sit down and write. But do not open those social media websites.
Explore new avenues
Many doctors suggest that learning new things is a way to create a better life and also keep your brain active for a long time. Our brains slow down as we age and we need to keep learning new things to keep our brains active. So you can pick up a new hobby, go to a new park or a place, learn to cook a new dish, or even try learning a new language. Remember we don't have to master anything but just doing something new will be a refresher for your brain. Maybe you will like something and pick it up for the longer term.
We hope you found this post interesting. If you want to share something, please comment or post a new topic.
Cheers,
Team Jey
